Biel's old town has an impressive backdrop, great shops, fine dining, a fine cultural offering and a wide range of regional products. Just a few years ago, it was dominated by the drug scene and a correspondingly yawning void. First Friday has made a decisive contribution to this turnaround. Every first Friday of the month, the entire old town presents itself in the best light, including culture, gastronomy, numerous events and the very special charm of old Biel and its inhabitants. First Friday is a great success and makes headlines all over Switzerland.
